The Texas Transportation Board will hold its first training class in Austin next week.
The Texas Association of Certified Trainers will be hosting the class at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, where they will train about 2,500 Texas drivers for the upcoming training season.
This year, the group is looking for more than 10,000 drivers to sign up.
Texas has nearly 50,000 licensed and licensed-for-hire drivers and nearly 6 million licensed motor vehicle occupants.
Training in Texas is free for licensed drivers, but registration is required.
A $50 registration fee is required for all new drivers who are under the age of 16.
It’s also required to renew the driver’s license of a new driver.
The Texas Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
It was formed in 2010 to promote the state’s driver training industry and provide training for Texas licensed drivers and operators.
The organization does not accept cash donations, but donations can be made through its website or in person.
The website has a fee schedule, which is available to check.
In 2018, the Texas Association began providing training in Texas for drivers under the supervision of licensed drivers.
In 2020, it was certified as a licensed driver training program by the Texas Motor Vehicle Commission.
The TVC also recognized the Texas association for the outstanding work it’s done to promote Texas’s driver licensing process and ensure safety standards for drivers and passengers.
In 2017, the TVC awarded the Texas driver licensing association its highest award, the Lone Star Certificate of Excellence, for outstanding work in the licensing and training of Texas licensed and registered drivers.
This was the first award of its kind for the Texas motor vehicle commission.
In 2016, the association established a statewide training center in Austin and started a statewide program for Texas drivers.
The program is funded by a statewide public-private partnership between the TRC and the Texas Department of Transportation.
In 2015, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials recognized the TXTAS for outstanding efforts in the transportation of licensed and uninsured drivers.
This is the second Texas training class this year.
The first was held in Houston in May.
