Tom Stoker, 40, has been training in London for more than three years with his son, Alex, and is hoping to get on the first train for a private trip to London.

“We’re planning to train from London to Brighton, and then we’re going to have a few days off and we’re expecting to be back to Manchester by the end of the year,” he said.

Tom said the training was not just about getting the skills to work on a train, but also the excitement and adrenaline of travelling to London on a rail journey.

He said: I’ve never done this before, I’ve been travelling for five years.

“I’ve never seen a train this beautiful, this comfortable and I’ve had so much fun.”

I’m looking forward to it, I’m really looking forward.

“The Stokers said the experience had been a “great day” so far, and it would be a “dream come true” to take part in the first London train from Manchester to London, if the plans go through.

We’ve just got to get this going and get it sorted before we get on board.””

Our friends have been looking forward for years to go to London,” he added.

“We’ve just got to get this going and get it sorted before we get on board.”

A lot of people have been really supportive of it.

“It’ll be great to see people on the train and see them on the platform.”
